Y’all, the power of the bodysuit is real.
I always recommend this style of lingerie to my clients who are in the shopping and planning stages of their shoots, and today, I’d like to highlight one style of bodysuit in particular in case you’re needing a little inspo for your outfits.
Enter Ms. S, featured in this post today. Total pinup bombshell, amirite?!
I love that she selected an emerald green bodysuit for her session. It complemented her Marilyn Monroe tresses and pulled the color in her eyes even more.
Now, I’m sure you’re thinking: “Yep, she looks like a total Babe-raham Lincoln in this bodysuit. But would I?”
And the answer is a resounding yes. Here’s why:
- Scalloped lace detailing. This adds intrigue and gives the viewer’s eye a more visually interesting route to follow along the subject’s curves. The neckline and back of this bodysuit showcase this feature, and I couldn’t recommend it more for any boudoir lingerie. Additionally, lace is my #1 recommended fabric selection for boudoir as it adds so much texture to your final images.
- A deep V without being too revealing. Any cup size will shine with this cut, where it’s just enough to be revealing and sexy for something like a boudoir shoot without giving it all away at once.
- An appropriate amount of front and back coverage around the hip creases. I know the high cut 90s style is back in these days (Pam Anderson à la Baywatch, anyone?), but it’s an unfortunate truth that this cut isn’t universally flattering for all body types. From a personal standpoint, I know I feel much more comfortable at boudoir sessions with a bit of fabric covering my hip creases. My clients have mentioned similar feelings as well. This bodysuit has you covered (literally) and won’t leave you feeling too exposed when the time comes to get down to your skivvies at your shoot.
- The criss-cross low back. Strappy lingerie is always a yes from me! The low back allows you to show off some skin to add to the overall sexiness of this particular piece.
Have I convinced you yet?! 😉
I hope this was an informative post in your quest for boudoir threads. I’ll finish by linking a couple options from my favorite local lingerie shop, Femme Fatale Intimates off South Broadway in the Baker neighborhood of Denver:
