If you’ve been wondering whether to wear your glasses to your boudoir shoot — the answer is always yes!
Boudoir photography is about capturing you. Not a dressed-up, unrecognizable version of you, but the version that actually exists in the world — the one with a personality, a style, and yes, a pair of glasses she wears every single day. Leaving them at home doesn’t make you look more “boudoir.” It just makes you look like someone else.
Your glasses are part of your vibe
The best boudoir sessions happen when clients show up as themselves. That means bringing the things that make you you — whether that’s a favorite piece of jewelry, a leather jacket, or the glasses you’ve worn since the college. These details add character to your images and make them feel personal.
One of my recent clients wore her glasses for part of her session, seen below. She came in nervous — not sure what to expect, not sure how to pose — and left feeling like herself, just elevated. Her words stuck with me: “She helped me see myself in a way that simply looking in the mirror never could.”
That’s what boudoir is supposed to do.
What to bring to your session
Don’t overthink your outfit choices. Bring what you love, bring what feels like you, and bring your glasses if you wear them. During our pre-session consultation, we’ll talk through looks and figure out what will photograph beautifully — but the starting point is always your personal style, not necessarily an idea of what boudoir “should” look like.
