About Denver Boudoir Photographer Ashley Kidder

I’m so glad you’re here!  I’m excited to meet you and get to know you.   If you’re opting for hair + makeup before your shoot with my go-to team, we’ll have a bit of time to chat and get comfortable with one another while you’re getting glammed up, but I want to share a little about myself here today so you can get to know me before you book!

Denver has been home for me since 2009, when I signed a lease for my first-ever studio apartment at 10th and Sherman in Capitol Hill ($495 rent back then baby!).  This city has two of the most important things to me: my friends and this little boudoir business.  I’ve put down roots here and have no plans to leave anytime soon, especially now that I run my boudoir studio out of my second bedroom.

From 2009 to 2014, I taught high school French — my first career!  Despite having left the profession to build this business, I’ll always be a lifelong educator.  I find that I use my teaching skills a lot during boudoir sessions, as it’s integral that I do my best to show you every pose you’ll do during your shoot.

In 2016, I purchased my first home in the Highlands.  I’m now a proud owner of a condo built in 1896!  I love my weird little space, un-level floors and all.  I’ve recently added crucial bird-watching infrastructure to my back patio.  Just today a mourning dove stopped by for some snaxx.  Can’t wait for summertime patio hangs!

My corgi, Sherman, was the light and love of my life.  We spent 13 years together and I’m thankful for every one of them.  Though she passed in 2025, I think of her every moment of every day.  This is one of my favorite photos that I snapped of her on my phone:

In 2024, I began working a temporary seasonal job for the Denver Elections Division.  At first, I worked at a polling site, helping folks get their ballots printed during the general election.  In 2025, I moved to the processing side, where my team and I sorted and processed every (!) single incoming ballot in Denver county through two $400,000 ballot machines.  I’m excited to head back this summer to work the primaries!

Traveling has been a cornerstone of my life since I majored in French at Colorado State University.  I’ve visited 48 countries (if I can remember correctly), with plans to get to 50 in the next two years.  Left on my bucket list: visiting the salt flats in Bolivia, the Atacama Desert in Chile, the Marina Bay Sands infinity pool in Singapore, and the Sahara Desert in Tunisia specifically.

I’m not ashamed to admit my undying love for the Fast and the Furious movie franchise.  I don’t care how stupid they’ve become.  Those films were everything when the first one came out my sophomore year of high school.  HIT THE NOS!

In 2020, I woke up one day and decided I didn’t want a car.  So I sold it!  I’ve been living car-free in Denver ever since and have become a huge advocate for public transit.

I pull out the shoe box of letters and gifts I saved from my granddad often — to remember him and the lessons he imparted with each token of his love.  I feel his love here with me every day, and even started a nonprofit in his honor last year.

The Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk in California is where some of my favorite childhood memories exist.  If you’re friends with me, it’s highly likely I’ll try to drag you there at some point.  We’ll ride the Giant Dipper (the 5th oldest American roller coaster!) as many times as our stomachs can handle, and then go eat giant ass corn dogs on the beach.

The Denver Nuggets get the bulk of my disposable income, as I get to as many games as I can each season with my bestie Tim and our friends.  It’s not everyday you have the world’s best basketball player tearing it up just a mile from your house — gotta try to get to as many games as possible before Jokić retires!

When I have a free moment, I enjoy volunteering at a food bank not far from my neighborhood.  I also volunteer as a film screener and greeter at Denver’s only nonprofit movie theater.  When Oscar season hits, you can find me trying to watch as many of the nominees as I can.  In 2026, I watched a record (for me) of 44 out of the 50 films that were nominated.

Enough about me — I’m excited to get to know you!  Can’t wait to meet you and hear more about all that makes you rad.
