This post is all about my #1 posing instruction you’ll hear at your boudoir shoot: the almighty back arch!
I’m not kidding when I say you might be a little sore the next day after crushing your session. It’s completely normal and expected! You’ll be working a select group of muscles that might not get the most activity in your day-to-day life.
Here to illustrate what I’m referencing is Ms. L, who came to me for a shoot at the beginning of 2021.
In this first image below, notice how her back curves from just below her shoulder blades and down to her sacrum, where her booty pops towards the ceiling just a bit. I like to have you imagine that you’re trying to balance a drink on your lower back without spilling it.
You can see in the next image that Ms. L is really leaning into it. I love that she’s using her hands on her lower back to really accentuate and almost exaggerate the arch.
In conclusion, if you aren’t sure how to channel the back arch from your inner self, the famous, wise words of Ice Cube come to mind: “You can do it, put your back into it.”
Thanks for stopping by the blog today! See you next time!
