Moody Denver Boudoir

Let’s talk about photographic style.

With so many Denver boudoir photographers to choose from, it’s imperative that you, as a client, have a clear vision of what you want your boudoir photos to look like after the shoot is all said and done.

Because there are so many different styles out there, from light + airy to dark + moody, not every photographer is going to be the best fit for what you’re looking for.  I’d love to talk a bit about what my shooting style is and what you can expect when your gallery is delivered.

When I began my career as a boudoir photographer back in 2010, I didn’t quite understand light.  Like at all.  I was scared of shooting in the direct sun and relied way too much on overcast days full of easy, diffused light.

As a result, my images lacked depth.  They weren’t very compelling.  At the end of the day, I was playing it safe and not really advancing as an artist.

It wasn’t until I had a moody boudoir shoot done for myself that I realized that there are (duh) more interesting ways to photograph women.

Seeing myself in such a sultry setting flipped a switch in my head.  It helped me see light differently, and I decided I would start incorporating more shadows into my work to achieve the same level of sexiness for my clients.

I will forever be grateful for this specific shoot and for the amazing photographer who helped me grow immensely as a creative.  Shooting boudoir in a more mysterious and seductive way has reenergized my photographic vision and given my work a new purpose.  It feels so comforting to have finally found a style that I am intensely proud of and that is so very me.  

I incorporate shadows as much as humanly possible in all of my boudoir shoots.

My home studio is set up perfectly to achieve this, as I have only one window in the room.  It faces south, so it offers perfect directional light throughout the course of the entire day, which is just what you need to create dramatic, sexy boudoir photos.  Too many windows (and therefore too many light sources) can get in the way of creating that moody style that I strive for.

Your gallery will feature a wide variety of angles and compositions.

I love getting full body shots just as much as I love cropping a frame to show off just your hot-hot-hot booty.  It is my duty as your boudoir photographer to show you just how amazing you are — every single inch, from head to toe.

Drama, drama, drama.  

Because I am committed to a more provocative photographic style, the overall vibe of your gallery will be immensely sensual.  Mysterious.  Dramatic.  Every now and then, we’ll have a laugh together while we’re shooting and I’ll definitely include those images in your gallery.  However, I won’t prompt you to smile as a pose itself, unless it occurs naturally and organically.

With that said, if you’re looking for boudoir photos that are a bit more on the whimsy side of things with a cheekier, smilier vibe to them, I may not be the best option for you.  Which is totally okay!  More than anything, I want you to have an impeccable boudoir experience from front to back, and that may mean you work with a different photographer for this occasion.

Every woman deserves beautiful photos of herself.  Whether they’re from me or another incredible photographer in the Denver area matters not!

My ultimate goal as your boudoir photographer is to help you feel like the supermodel that you are.  I want your photos to reflect that feeling, too, which is why I have dedicated myself to this particular shooting style.  I believe in the power of downright sexy boudoir photos, and I know you do, too.
