Scheduling Your Denver Boudoir Session: How far in advance should I schedule my shoot?
Timing is huge when considering a Denver boudoir session. While the tide has definitely begun to shift over the past few years and more of my clients are booking boudoir as a “just because” gift to themselves, the majority of the gals I work with are choosing to shoot boudoir as a gift: for a special someone’s birthday, anniversary, or wedding day surprise. Every boudoir photographer will have different guidelines as to when you should book your shoot, so I want to make sure my info is clear and helpful when you start planning your session. I’m here to hit those deadlines and make sure you have your desired product in your hands well before your target date.
My official recommendation is that you choose a shoot date that’s at least six weeks out from your deadline.
This used to be a shorter turnaround time on my end, but omicron has swooped in and continues to disrupt daily life left and right. Just last night I rescheduled a client’s boudoir session for the second time this month as she was notified someone close to her tested positive for covid. I have to keep myself and my hair + makeup team safe, so we all agreed to push her shoot another two weeks. Luckily, she is doing this session (her second one with me!) just for fun, so we have the wiggle room in the calendar to reschedule as needed.
For my clients on a deadline, I want to make sure there’s a healthy buffer in between when you want to shoot and when you want to have your finished images ready to go. I don’t want to leave you scrambling to find a replacement gift at the last minute in case covid drops in, or in case there’s a supply chain or shipping delay (especially as Denver enters its historically snowier weather in the next few months).
If you can’t make six weeks work, I totally get it! Sometimes timelines don’t always perfectly line up. If that’s the case, I still want to hear from you! Every now and then I’ll have some last-minute openings available in my calendar. If I can squeeze you in, I most certainly will do my best to deliver as fast as I can.
