Sometimes boudoir isn’t just about lingerie.
It can be so much more than that, and it all depends on how you view your own unique sense of fashion.
Monique brought in this killer outfit at her recent Denver boudoir session at the home studio and I knew that I had to feature it on the blog in all its beauty.
I love this outfit for a boudoir shoot from head to toe. Looking at it as a whole, I love the casually sexy feel. It lends a certain 90s Calvin Klein vibe to it that I think is simply irresistible. Do you remember all those black + white ads and commercials?! Good lord, those might go down in history as some of the sexiest of all-time.

If you’ve been following my work for a chunk of time now, you’ll know that I really love it when clients bring in socks for their boudoir shoot. I usually see black or grey knee-highs so it was such a treat that Monique chose olive green thigh-highs. That color just goes perfectly with her skin tone, and also with her floral tattoo piece on her thigh (which also coordinates with the delicate floral design on her bottoms).

I especially love that the top is ribbed. This texture really gives it the opportunity to shine on camera, as fabrics with a visually stimulating surface quality (e.g. lace, velvet) are often much more photogenic than those without (e.g. satin, silk).
I mean, just look at this black + white frame from the shoot. The light from the window to Monique’s right just spills so beautifully over the shirt, creating depth and definition across the ripples of the shirt (and those muscles — yas!).
